One day after the launch of Steam Next Fest (February 23), indie developer New Gen Studio is excited to announce that Toycrafter, its upcoming psychological crafting simulation thriller, is officially part of the event, with a free playable demo available now on Steam.
Toycrafter is a psychological simulation thriller that places players alone in a quiet workshop, cutting, painting, and assembling unsettling doll sculptures. Blending tactile crafting mechanics with subtle environmental tension, the game focuses on atmosphere and unease rather than traditional horror tropes.
Unlike conventional horror titles, Toycrafter features:
- Hands-on precision-based crafting mechanics
- A fully interactive workshop environment
- Psychological tension without jumpscares or chase sequences
- Narrative elements revealed through objects and subtle anomalies
The Steam Next Fest demo includes two fully playable nights from the seven planned for the full release, offering players a focused introduction to the game’s core systems and tone.
“We’re incredibly excited to finally share Toycrafter with a wider audience during Steam Next Fest,” said the team at New Gen Studio. “The demo represents the foundation of the full experience, and community feedback during the festival is invaluable to us.”
Toycrafter is currently in development for PC (Steam), with a full release planned for Q2–Q3 2026.
